IMO partners with Be.EV charge network to make EVs cleaner

EV Chargers at IMO Car Washes

Leading international car wash brand IMO has selected national charging network Be.EV to install and maintain chargers across several of their sites - with four locations now live and available to use in Yorkshire, South Wales and the Northeast.

From today, visitors can charge their electric cars at IMO car washes in Batley, Cwmbran, Bradford and Newcastle, with further sites in Hull, Alfreton and Carlisle set to go live in the new year.

All sites are equipped with rapid chargers, which can charge a typical EV to 80% in 1-2 hours, compared to 4-6 hours on a 7kW fast charger. IMO Batley Car Wash is further powered by an additional ultra-rapid charger, which can charge a car in as little as 20 minutes.

Monday 16th October saw IMO executives and loyal customers come together at the Bradford site with Be.EV staff and members to celebrate the national partnership, with visitors offered a complimentary triple foam car wash from IMO.

With the site only five minutes from Bradford city centre, it’s expected to receive an average of 150 visitors a day. The number of cars passing the site regularly reaches over 11,000 vehicles a day, and Bradford has over 2,300 registered electric vehicles - the drivers of which will be able to charge their vehicle whilst commuting into town or queuing for the car wash.

IMO is the world’s favourite car wash company with 740 sites across 13 European countries and over 240 locations in the UK alone. Their partnership with Be.EV reflects the two brands’ shared commitment to the local communities they serve, providing high quality services to drivers across the country.

Their partnership with Be.EV sees the company join the largest public EV charging network that is connecting communities across the UK and boasts impressive reliability (99.6% operational availability across the entire network). It is set to attract usage from both the local communities and visitors to the car washes.

Asif Ghafoor, CEO of Be.EV, says: “We’re thrilled to partner with IMO and celebrate the launch of our first installations together.

“IMO is a world-leading brand that is renowned for the quality of their automated car wash service. From the earliest stages of working with their team, they showed a clear desire to create a high-quality, high-speed charging experience at their car wash locations that would be future proof - an approach that perfectly aligns with our ethos at Be.EV.

“This is just the first phase of our work together - we look forward to bringing our chargers to many more IMO locations across the country.”

Adam Green, Managing Director for IMO UK, added: "We are excited to announce our partnership with Be.EV and the installation of electric vehicle chargers at several of our car wash sites across the UK. As the world's favourite car wash company, we are committed to providing an excellent car wash service as well as enhancing the overall experience for our customers.

“With the installation of rapid chargers at our Batley car wash, and upcoming locations in Hull, Alfreton and Carlisle, we are empowering electric vehicle owners in the UK with quick and reliable charging options.

“By joining forces with Be.EV, we are proud to be part of the largest public EV charging network in the North of England, ensuring reliable and accessible charging solutions for local communities and car wash visitors alike. This is just the beginning of our collaboration, and we look forward to expanding our partnership with Be.EV to more IMO locations across the country."
