SD-International Launch Zeta Artoria EV Tyre

EV Tyres

As a leading international tyre designer and manufacturer. Shanghai based SD-International are fully aware of the rising demand for tyres to compliment Electric Vehicles (EV). So, in developing a superior tyre that meets all the demands of the most advanced EV vehicles. SD-International have carefully prepared the introduction of their very first EV tire after analysing this new energy vehicle tyre’s requirements and possibilities for the future.

Such as the inclusion of a battery pack that requires a higher weight bearing capacity whilst fast efficient grip levels are needed to combat an overall larger output torque. There was also the need for lower rolling resistance capabilities and special attention needed to be paid towards engine noise levels.

Taking all these highly important factors into account. SD-International has recently released its ‘first phase’ of the all new Artoria EV pattern under its highly popular Zeta private brand. The Zeta Artoria EV tyre incorporates a series of important design elements including a ‘silent pattern design’ alongside a tread pattern with three tiers of computer optimised varying pitch sequences to effectively reduce road noise and drive comfort.

At the same time the Zeta Artoria offers a selection of equally important features and benefits for drivers of the very latest EV vehicles. Including a unique tread pattern with a high rigid pattern block (in the central part of the tread) that produces an ultra-low rolling resistance formula to effectively reduce the tyre’s internal energy loss whilst driving. To significantly reduce rolling energy consumption and further improve endurance mileage performance.

Whilst a special thin blade cutter groove and 3D Corner Cutting design further increases braking and acceleration capabilities and ensures additional traction to improve tyre heat dissipation and overall durability. Also, to combat EV vehicles being heavier the Artoria EV incorporates even stronger materials to effectively reduce rolling resistance and bearing requirements.

A comfortable pattern noise design is achieved through the introduction of a five-frequency pattern block computer optimised design with two pitch arrangement which significantly reduces pattern noise and further enhances driving comfort. Plus, the overall structural design of the tyre has been optimised by implementing a special thickening of the tyre lining to absorb vibration. Whilst the tread formation is even more elasticated to reduce viscous and stick-slip noise levels.

Finally, a high lateral stiffness and strong positive torque design greatly improves overall drive and ride comfort control in all weather and road conditions.

Frank Xu, Purchasing Director at SD-International says, “A great deal of intensive research and design has been implemented into Zeta’s very first tyre pattern specifically for EV vehicles and initially the range is currently available in six popular size options for 2023 which are being fitted to Tesla vehicles in the OE market including 235/45R18 (Tesla model 3), 235/40R19 (Tesla model 3) and 255/45R19 (Tesla model Y).
