Ambassadors Thank Hospital Staff
Everton Ambassadors Graham Stuart and Ian Snodin helped to spread Christmas cheer at two local NHS hospitals by thanking staff for their efforts.
Accompanied by the Club’s Official Tyre Partner, Davanti Tyres, the trophy-winning former Blues duo paid a visit to the hard-working nurses at Liverpool Women's NHS Foundation Trust and Ormskirk General Hospital, armed with hundreds of mince pies.
The festive fayre, eagerly snapped up by the health workers, was kindly funded by Davanti Tyres, and provided by Jasper’s (North West).
Ashley Smith, Social Media and Partnerships Manager at Davanti, said: “It’s been fantastic to be involved in such a positive community project and show our gratitude for the hard work from all staff at these hospitals.
“We hope this small gesture goes a long way in showing how appreciated they are.”
Gary Price, Chief Operating Officer at the Liverpool Women’s Hospital, beamed: “We really appreciate Everton and Davanti Tyres taking the time to visit us and for the mince pies they provided for staff.
“It was great to meet and chat with the club’s ambassadors and ex-players and our staff really appreciated the time they spent with us.
“Community engagement is very important to us at Liverpool Women’s Hospital, so it is fantastic to see Everton visiting local hospitals as part of their community engagement work.”
After dishing out the mince pies, posing for photographs and chatting to staff, Santa’s little helpers headed 17 miles north to visit Ormskirk General Hospital, where they joined Shirley Coward and her team in visiting youngsters in the paediatric ward.
Shirley, Matron for Paediatric & Neonatal Services, who helped arrange the visit, said: “We were really grateful to everyone at Everton for arranging the visit.
“It was great to have a chat and a laugh with Ian and Graham and the staff and children who were fortunate to meet them really enjoyed it.’’
