Climbing Kilimanjaro for BEN

Mount Kilimanjaro

The latest Industry Leader Challenge (ILC) is Ben’s biggest yet, with six teams from well-known automotive businesses currently climbing Africa’s highest mountain, Kilimanjaro.

Each intrepid boss, along with a ‘future leader’ from each company, is currently climbing one of the world’s most iconic peaks, having started on November 21st and expecting to finish 27 November 2022, each team has been fundraising with the aim to raise a total of £300,000 which, if met, would be an ILC fundraising record.

Participants include Andy Hamilton and Anthony McAteer from Euro Car Parts, Leon Bosch and Joel Combes from Lawgistics. Teams from several new car dealer groups are also participating, as are CAT magazine bosses, Rachael Prasher and Jim Holder from Haymarket Automotive

Ben director Matt Wigginton said: “This is a fantastic opportunity to climb one of the most iconic peaks in the world, while also doing something incredible to ensure no-one in our industry has to face life’s toughest challenges alone! We all have our own mountains to climb at some point in our lives, so we felt that this challenge was very fitting. Now more than ever, automotive people need Ben – and we need you and your support.

“We are so excited to reach the snow-capped summit of Mount Kilimanjaro with some of the most intrepid leaders in our industry! All money raised through this challenge will help Ben provide much-needed support to those in our industry who are tackling their own personal mountains in life, especially right now.”

The challenge is inspired by the then IMI Chief Exec, Sarah Sillars OBE, who took on Mount Kilimanjaro back in 2010, raising £38,000 for Ben.
