Comedian revealed for Garage Awards

Comedian Ian Moore

The IAAF has announced that popular comedian, Ian Moore, will be providing the evening entertainment at the Automechanika Birmingham Garage Awards 2023, hosted by the federation and headline sponsored by LKQ Euro Car Parts, on Wednesday 7 June at Hilton Birmingham Metropole.

A TV and radio regular, best-selling author and headliner at London’s world-famous Comedy Store, Ian is also a blogger and podcaster and occupies a unique position in British comedy.

His best-selling novel, ‘Death & Croissants’ was released in July 2021, and the follow-up, ‘Death & Fromage’, in July 2022. He has appeared on BBC 2’s Richard Osman’s House of Games, is a regular guest on BT Sport’s The Football’s On, BBC 5 Live’s Fighting Talk and Talksport’s The Warm Up. Ian has also won many plaudits for his performance in the last series of BBC Radio 4’s long-running The Now Show.

The Automechanika Birmingham Garage Awards, sponsored by LKQ Euro Car Parts and hosted by IAAF in June, will celebrate the very best of the garage industry and acknowledge the commitment and dedication independent garages and technicians have made to ensuring affordable mobility in the UK over the past few years.

There are eight award categories including: Garage of the Year, Best Independent Garage (Single-Site), Best Independent Garage (Multi-Site), Best Community initiative, ‘Auto-Mechanik’ of the year, Best Marketing, Best Customer Service and the coveted Lifetime Achievement Award.

Winners of the awards will be announced on the evening of 7 June after day two of the Automechanika Birmingham show. The event includes networking opportunities, prize giving, a three-course meal and entertainment from Ian Moore.

Mark Field, IAAF Chief Executive, comments: “We’re delighted to be welcoming comedian Ian Moore to the Automechanika Birmingham Garage Awards event to make it a night to remember! These new awards will highlight our brilliant garage sector and the businesses and individuals working in it.”
