Garage Hive community forges lasting connections during social hike

The Blend Hike

The Garage Hive community has once again come out in force to network and socialise, this time while tackling the notoriously challenging ‘Fan Dance’ in an extremely foggy Brecon Beacons National Park.

The adventurous social networking event saw Garage Hive workshops, employees, partners and friends come together on May 2nd to complete the 25km route used as training for UK Special Forces selection. Undeterred by the bleak forecast, more than 30 participants climbed Pen y Fan's west slope before descending ‘Jacob's Ladder’ and continuing along the old Roman road ahead of a return leg.

"The Blend Hike serves as more than just a physical challenge; it's a fun opportunity for our community to come together, share experiences, and strengthen bonds," said Alex Lindley, Director of Garage Hive. “It truly embodies the spirit of collaboration and camaraderie that defines Garage Hive."

With a route deemed highly challenging and suitable only for experienced adventurers, the community rallied together, supporting one another through every step of the challenge.

Plans are now underway for another charity hike, expected to take place following The Blend 2024, the annual conference and networking event for independent garages, after it last year raised more than £12,000 for industry charity, Ben.
