Garage Hive group raises over £12,000 for Ben

Garage Hive Charity Hike

The community behind Garage Hive has rallied together in a remarkable display of unity and support, raising an incredible £12,000 for industry charity, Ben.

The donation, a collective effort from the entire community and its partners, is an accumulation of a charity hike fundraiser, kind-hearted contributions, and proceeds from The Blend’s 2023 annual conference and networking event.

The charity hike took place amidst the breathtaking landscape of the Peak District on 11th October. Undeterred by the wind and rain, more than 50 individuals from the community booted-up to smash the £5,000 donation target. The team covered a gruelling 19.3 kilometres, with an elevation gain of 713 meters, as they tackled the Kinder Scout and Mam Tor Circular route.

“What an amazing day. I couldn't be prouder of everyone involved,” said Alex Lindley Director of Garage Hive. “It was bloody hard work, especially with the weather, so I’d like to thank all  for their generous donations.”

Ben, the charity for those working in the automotive sector, provides critical assistance to individuals facing challenging times, offering financial aid, mental health support, and practical assistance to automotive industry workers and their families.

“The amount raised for Ben will undoubtedly make a significant difference in the lives of those who need it most within our industry,” said Ray Dilsons, Managing Director of Garage Hive. “This incredible achievement reflects our shared commitment to giving back and supporting one another."

A cash injection of £2,478 from The Blend profit, together with partner contributions and individual donations, saw the total amount raised exceed all expectations. Following on from the success of this year’s efforts, the community anticipates it to become an annual event.
