Great British Motor Shows (GBMS) annual awards dinner brought a fine end to the classic car event organiser’s year as 2023 participants gathered in Harrogate for what was the second running of its annual award evening.

The various awards formed part of a gala black-tie evening and amongst all of the jollity, GMBS Director, Steve Bishop revealed the ambitious plans for the second running of Masters of Motoring in June 2024.

This year, Masters will span the whole of the first weekend in June, with the added dimension of a track day at Castle Combe Circuit on the Saturday, and a return to nearby Bowood House and Gardens for a Concours together with various Theme Displays on the Sunday. A number of social happenings will tie the weekend together, so that those participating should have numerous opportunities to revel in both the gathering of cars and the assembled company.

Progress towards the event has already been swift, behind the scenes, with a huge variety of machinery already slated to be taking part, from Concours Classics, through Supercars and Hypercars to the Stars of Special Stages and even Historic Formula One cars.

The number of Great British Motor Shows events has expanded once again for 2024 with the organisation set to stage 15 classic & performance car events in the upcoming year. It has also designated various of its events as “Signature Events” for 2024. These will have larger display areas, greater participant and spectator capacity and added  attractions. Chatsworth on 21st July is one such, as are Harewood on June 9th, Northamptonshire on August 4th and the Cheshire show on 1st September.

There will also a new show to the calendar in Warwickshire at Wroxall Park, which takes place on May 12th.

Also new for 2024 is Great British Motor Shows Membership. This comes with a number of exciting benefits that will enhance visitors’ experience at every event. It brings entry with it to  all of the 15 shows in 2024 and one of further the benefits is that GBMS Members will be able to gain access to an exclusive, dedicated members areas at the new Signature shows,.

New Partnerships

Great British Motor Shows is delighted to have several new partnerships in place for 2024.

Race against Dementia is now the chosen charity. At 2024 events, they will be raising funds for the fight against what is the UK’s single biggest cause of death, with every ticket and exhibit helping donate to the charity. The charity, which has Sir Jackie Stewart OBE as its founder and spokesperson, has a high profile in its struggle against a disease that will affect one person in three born in the UK. “I am so delighted that Race Against Dementia has been chosen by Great British Motor Shows as its selected charity – it means a great deal to me,” comments, Sir Jackie. “Dementia is an enormous problem which affects millions of people across the globe. We need to accelerate dementia research and bring about change. So many thanks indeed to Great British Motor Shows and everyone attending their shows for joining the race against dementia!”

Great British Motor Shows is also delighted to announce Evoke Classics as its auction partner. The online classic car sales platform - through founders Sarah Crabtree and Joanne Lawrance, and various members of the www.evoke-classics.com team - will have a presence at many of the GBMS events in 2024.

Great British Motor Shows is also pleased to announce its partnership with the Great British Car Journey - a new and exciting museum that celebrates the history of British cars. The Great British Car Journey offers visitors the chance to drive more than 40 British classics and membership to the Great British Motor Show’s new membership scheme gives 20% off both admission to the museum and off the Drive Dad’s Car Scheme.
