LIQUI MOLY steps on the gas in British motorsport
German motor oil and additive manufacturer becomes official partner of the British Touring Car Championship (BTCC).
LIQUI MOLY will enter into an “Official Oil and Lubricants Partnership” with the British touring car racing series BTCC in the current 2024 season. With that, the German company’s logo will be visible worldwide – on the race tracks and in the media. “The BTCC is not only a firm fixture in motorsport throughout the United Kingdom, but also attracts fans worldwide,” says Debbie Barnes, Managing Director of LIQUI MOLY UK, delighted about the contract.
LIQUI MOLY is sponsoring the British Touring Car Championship series for the first time. The partnership is long-term, not only for the rest of the 2024 season, but also for the 2025, 2026 and 2027 seasons. It includes advertising on hoardings along the race tracks as well as in the respective podium area and on press walls. In addition, the blue-red-white company logo will be continuously present on all media channels of the racing series.
With the sponsorship in the home of motorsport, the lubricant specialist aims to further develop and strengthen the market in the United Kingdom in particular, which has been under the responsibility of the subsidiary LIQUI MOLY UK since 2022.
“Speed, adrenaline rush, emotions – the BTCC has been thrilling motorsport enthusiasts for decades. Placing LIQUI MOLY in this dynamic environment is the perfect opportunity for us to increase the fascination for our quality brand – and our partners and customers will benefit from this in the long term,” says Debbie Barnes, Managing Director of LIQUI MOLY UK.
The race on July 27 and 28 at Croft is the first event at which LIQUI MOLY will be represented and it will also bear the name of the company: “Kwik Fit British Touring Car Championship Liqui Moly Race Day”. LIQUI MOLY will also lend its name to the race in Croft for the subsequent seasons.
“As passionate motorsport enthusiasts, we sponsor racing series worldwide. This new partnership is a logical and consistent step in further expanding our international brand awareness through sponsorship,” says Peter Baumann, Marketing Director at LIQUI MOLY. “With its popularity and enormous reach, the BTCC offers us the perfect opportunities for this.”
“We are delighted to welcome LIQUI MOLY into the BTCC family,” says Alan Gow, BTCC Chief Executive. “We have always cherished our loyal and long-term relationships with our very specific and carefully chosen partners, and we look forward to LIQUI MOLY joining that illustrious group. LIQUI MOLY is a much admired and trusted motor oil and additive manufacturer throughout the world, not just in motorsport, and we are looking forward to what will be a hugely successful partnership.”
The commitment to the British Touring Car Championship fits perfectly into the existing motorsports sponsorship of the lubricant specialist. Among other things, LIQUI MOLY is an “Official Partner” of Formula 1, is represented in the DTM and is the exclusive lubricant partner in the Moto2 and Moto3 as well as in the FIM Motocross World Championship.
