Mintex Advances Engineering Education at Reddish Hall School
TMD Friction continues to support Reddish Hall School in Stockport through its Mintex brand. Reddish Hall School serves pupils aged 5-18 with complex educational needs, providing specialised vocational training in mechanical engineering.
The school's vocational training facility, 'The Hive,' is designed to impart practical skills in various trades, including automotive engineering. Responding to the school's request for vehicle part donations, Mintex has supplied essential learning resources, facilitating the development of the next generation of engineering professionals.
Since its inception over two years ago, The Hive has expanded its mechanical training capabilities significantly, now featuring two ramps and a tyre fitting machine. Initially focused on carpentry and bricklaying, the facility has integrated a wide range of automotive training aids, enhancing its curriculum for students.
Scott Irwin, Head of Technical Training at TMD Friction, recently visited The Hive at Reddish Hall Motor Vehicle Training Facility. During his visit, Mintex engaged with students, providing insights into the automotive industry alongside JamesMcGrath, Lead Motor Vehicle Instructor. The students were also presented with Mintex-branded T-shirts and a banner displaying "Future Automotive Engineers."
"The collaboration with Scott Irwin and the Mintex team is crucial for our school's vocational training program. Their contributions of equipment and expertise enable our students to acquire vital skills and qualifications that are instrumental for their future careers," stated a representative from Reddish Hall School. "The upcoming theoretical training on braking systems, facilitated by Mintex, will further enhance our students' technical knowledge. We appreciate the continuous support from Scott and the Mintex team and look forward to our ongoing partnership."
