The Blend’s charity hike heads for Peak District

The Blend community is once again extending an invite for garages across the UK and Ireland to take part in its next Charity Hike

The Blend community is once again extending an invite for garages across the UK and Ireland to take part in its next Charity Hike through the stunning Peak District National Park. Set for September 25th, the challenging yet rewarding trail promises breathtaking scenery, networking like never before and the opportunity to support industry charity, Ben.

Any independent garage can get involved. It’s a chance for participants to challenge themselves, enjoy the outdoors, and connect with like-minded peers.

“It’s about bringing our industry together to discuss business challenges, strategies, and opportunities while enjoying the outdoors and contributing to a worthy cause,” said Ray Dilsons, Event Director at The Blend.

The hike kicks off in the beautiful Highshaw Clough before ascending towards Winstone Lee Tor. Participants will then reach Derwent Edge, a striking Millstone Grit escarpment offering unparalleled views of the Upper Derwent Valley.

The trail continues along the edge, passing White Tor to Back Tor – the highest point of the hike – before descending towards the historic Lost Lad memorial. The descent leads hikers to the serene banks of Ladybower Reservoir.

The adventure concludes with a scenic walk along Derwent Lane, passing Ladybower Reservoir to Ashopton Viaduct, before returning to the starting point at the car park.

“We’re hoping for better weather this year,” said Alex Lindley of Lindleys Autocentres in Nottingham. “But no matter what, it's going to be a memorable hike where lifelong friendships are bound to be formed.”

Participants are encouraged to contribute to the fundraising efforts. The total amount raised will be revealed at The Blend conference on Saturday, 28th September at the Eastside Rooms in Birmingham.

Ben, the charity for those working in the automotive sector, provides critical assistance to individuals facing challenging times, offering financial aid, mental health support, and practical assistance to automotive industry workers and their families.

Last year, The Blend’s charity hike helped raise an incredible £12,000 for Ben.
