ALLDATA confirms speaker lineup for Repair Excellence at DC Lomas
Cast of respected industry voices and their chosen topics to address real-world challenges and opportunities for independent workshop owners and technicians are confirmed. Event to take place in Cheshire.
ALLDATA Europe is excited to reveal its lineup for the upcoming Repair Excellence Event at DC Lomas. Leading experts in their respected fields will share their valuable insights to workshop owners and technicians on Saturday 26th April.
Dean Lomas, the owner of DC Lomas, Dave Reece, one of the co-founders of School of Thought, and Opus IVS’ Karl Booth and ALLDATA Europe’s Simon Frost will kick-off proceedings by delving into subjects that will resonate with the audience.
Winner of the National Modern Apprentice of the Year award in 2001, Dean will share his experience as a trainee mechanic and hope to inspire fellow workshop owners with his passion for employing apprentices as he looks to protect the future of the automotive aftermarket.
Continuing the theme of attracting and retaining the right profile of professional, Dave will reveal strategies and offer tips to support employees working in a demanding environment.
Simon and Karl, meanwhile, will team-up to illustrate how collaboration is more powerful than competition in the garage community, citing the importance of people, tools and data – after-all, Repair Excellence Event was created to unite professionals.
At the conclusion of those presentations, the audience will be split into smaller groups for three technical training breakout sessions, led by familiar faces in the trade:
Steve Scott, the founder of the SimplyDiag network, will focus on effective approaches to diagnosing and solving vehicle faults. Specifically, he will identify root causes using pass/fail tests.
Master technician, Kris Williams, with the support of Dean, will showcase the benefits of ‘thinking outside the box’ when diagnosing a vehicle proves problematic, while Schaeffler Vehicle Lifetime Solutions UK Technical Services Manager, Alistair Mason, will present and demonstrate double clutch training, emphasising how preparation and sourcing information for the job will enhance efficiency.
During these technical sessions, representatives from ALLDATA Europe and Opus IVS will be present to show delegates how data and tools, like ALLDATA Repair and Opus’ DrivePro 2, can support technicians in their day-to-day activities.
Creating a community hub
During the day, visitors will have ample opportunities to network with industry peers. Furthermore, representatives from guest suppliers and automotive industry, Ben, will be present.
All the components are in place for delegates to make the most of their visit – gaining valuable insights that they can apply in their own workshop environments, as Josh Smith from The Garage Warmington, concurs:
“It’s been absolutely brilliant so far (speaking during lunchtime). Hearing from the speakers has given me a real insight into the industry – how it’s changing, where we can go as a business and how we can improve.”
