Over 80 passionate technicians and workshop owners attended ALLDATA Europe’s inaugural Repair Excellence Event
  • Bespoke mix of content impresses audience of independent workshop owners and technicians, with visitors travelling far and wide to learn new skills, boost confidence and network with the garage community.

Over 80 passionate technicians and workshop owners attended ALLDATA Europe’s inaugural Repair Excellence Event, with a comprehensive mix of business and technical content packed into expert talks, live demonstrations, hands-on training and networking.

Held at Shaikly Motor Company Ltd, in partnership with Opus IVS, the event was a resounding success, bringing together respected industry figureheads, workshop owners and technicians and renowned automotive aftermarket stakeholders.

Delegates travelled from across the UK – some as far as Inverness in Scotland! – driven by their desire to engage with the valuable content on offer and return to their workshop equipped with actionable insights.

Highlights included Michael Shaikly’s deep dive into customer profiling, Amy Blick presenting and overcoming HR challenges in the workshop, and James Dillon gripping the audience with a captivating session on diagnostic process training.

The afternoon ramped up with interactive technical training, with the audience divided into smaller groups led by industry experts: Steve Scott (SimplyDiag) delivered a masterclass on fault inspections; Darren Quinn (Mechanic Mindset) unravelled the complexities of wiring diagrams and technical data, and Gary Clayton (HEVRA) tackled EV faults and diagnostics with expert precision.

Networking was a major highlight too; Ben, the automotive charity, attended with ALLDATA Europe pleased to donate £300 as recognition for the outstanding work it conducts in the automotive community. Furthermore, colleagues from LKQ Euro Car Parts, ACtronics and Shell joined the festivities, showcasing their latest products and services to delegates.

Outstanding feedback

Initial reaction has been overwhelmingly positive, with many praising the balance of technical and business takeaways.

Dean Clark, of West End Garage Nairn – the workshop based near Inverness – said: “I’ve been using ALLDATA Europe for several years, mainly for wiring diagrams but also for technical service bulletins. The genuine diagrams make a difference, as they give me confidence and reassurance that they are correct – not altered in any way – so when I learned that it was launching its own event, I had to come down!

“The event went well and was worth the travel! The opportunity to hear from some of the industry leaders in training, diagnostics and business was invaluable. The networking was a real bonus, and the willingness of everyone to collaborate and help others was amazing.

“We have been able to follow up with several connections since the event, which has put our business in a stronger position as a result. Looking forward to attending similar events in the future.”

ALLDATA thrilled with first event

ALLDATA Europe was determined to deliver an event that provided attendees with practical, take-home insights. The encouragement and success bode well for its next Repair Excellence Event, which will take place at DC Lomas, Cheshire, on Saturday 26th April.

ALLDATA UK Sales Director, Simon Frost, expressed his delight at how the event debut unfolded: “We are thrilled with how the first Repair Excellence Event has been received. The reaction has been fantastic, and it’s clear that our attendees found value in the combination of content.

“Seeing so many industry professionals collaborating – on a Saturday! – to learn and share experiences shows that we’re on the right path. We’re excited to build on this momentum and bring more insights to the industry in future events, starting with our next one in Cheshire.”
