Automotive industry unites at Ben Ball to raise over £120,000 in life-saving funds

Ben Ball 2022

Over 600 guests attended Ben Ball 2022 for a spectacular evening which raised over £120,000 in vital life-saving funds to support members of the automotive community who are struggling or in crisis.  The annual flagship black tie event was held on Wednesday 7th December and supported by AutoTrader.

This year, the event moved across London to its new home at Old Billingsgate Market – a venue in the heart of the City on the north bank of the Thames. The venue was transformed into a stunning winter ballroom and guests were treated to a thrilling performance by @WestEnd2U.

Ben also shared the latest update with guests on the Industry Leader Challenge - The Climb - which saw a team of 15 industry leaders scale Kilimanjaro to raise money for Ben. The event also gave an insight into the vast increase in demand that Ben is experiencing, as more people than ever before are reaching out for help with their finances, due to the cost-of-living crisis.

A heart-wrenching story about a member of the automotive community called Clive, who has cancer, was also shared with guests, which you can watch on Ben’s website now.

The auctions on the night raised more than £120,000 - which exceeds last year and is one of the highest Ben Ball fundraising totals. The generosity shown during the challenging times we are currently experiencing will mean that Ben can continue to support those in the industry who are struggling or in crisis, as well as their family dependents.

Matt Wigginton, Director of Partnerships, Engagement & Income at Ben, said: “I’m blown away by the support we’ve received at this year’s Ben Ball. It really is tough times out there for everyone at the moment, so this means the world to us and those we support. All funds raised will go to supporting those in the industry who are struggling right now - and people really are struggling. This support is life-changing and life-saving. People are having to make an impossible choice between eating or heating this winter and that’s a choice no-one should have to make.

“It was also fantastic to celebrate the year together and show the automotive community we care and that, together, we’re committed to helping people get through their darkest days. That no-one in our automotive family has to struggle alone - Ben is here.

“Thank you to everyone who joined us at Ben Ball, you made the night truly special.  We are incredibly grateful for your generosity on the night - we couldn’t do what we do without you. Thank you.”

When any member of our automotive family is struggling or in crisis, we all rally to support them.
