Bradford sees highest increase in Auto Windscreens ‘pothole’ jobs

Potholes

Auto Windscreens data from the last 12 months shows the company saw a 207% increase in ‘pothole’ jobs in Bradford compared to the previous 12 months. The city tops the list of increased windscreen replacements and repairs where ‘pothole’ was given as the damage reason, followed by Swindon with a 141% growth in jobs volume, Warrington with a 103% rise, Teeside, with a 100% uplift and Bath with an 87% increase.

Gemma Hopkinson, Head of Insurance Sales at Auto Windscreens said: “Over the last 12 months, we’ve seen a 26% rise in the number of jobs across the country which have been related to potholes. This is unsurprising given the recent Annual Local Authority Road Maintenance (ALARM) survey report found that the ‘catch-up cost’ of fixing our roads is a record high of £16.3bn.

“Our advice to drivers is to apply common sense, take note of potholes in your area and on familiar routes and report damage. Road condition is as important as the weather - and keep your speed down so you’re able to avoid potholes safely.”
