Daniel Chambers joins the Dayco team

Dayco new employee

Highly experienced wholesale parts specialist, Daniel Chambers, has joined Dayco to further strengthen its UK aftermarket team, as it continues to increase sales of its established HT (white) timing belt kits and grow its range of belt in oil (BIO) solutions.

Daniel brings with him considerable aftermarket experience, being trained as both a technician who worked ‘at the coal face’ and a parts specialist with prominent national wholesale chains. After three years with the Motorist Centre in Rugby and another year with Midland Vehicle Components, Daniel began a 14-year career with GSF, which saw him develop from his initial role as a parts sales advisor, to become assistant branch manager and then branch manager in Milton Keynes, then branch manager in Daventry and finally, the general manager of the Northampton regional distribution centre.

“Having worked in the wholesale parts business for such a long time, I obviously have a broad view of the market and the many brands that supply parts into the industry,” said Daniel, “and was therefore naturally very aware of Dayco and its original equipment heritage. So, as I had planned to change career direction and work with a supplier, the prospect of being part of the Dayco team was not only a great opportunity, but also an easy decision to make.”

“Daniel joined Dayco at a particularly busy time for us, as the team was preparing for the country’s largest trade show, the UK Garage & Bodyshop Event in Birmingham last month,” said Dayco’s National Sales Manager, Steve Carolan. “However, the timing was also ideal as we had a busy stand where we held several technical training sessions to inform and educate technicians and independent workshop owners, which was also a great opportunity for Daniel to speak with both our customer’s customers, and the factors and distributors that also visited the show.

“As interest in BIO technology among workshops is growing significantly and our sales are rising exponentially, adding another knowledgeable professional to our team was an important priority, and with Daniel we have a personality that fits that brief superbly and so look forward to a long and successful period together.”
