Delphi Technologies prepared for EV Ready show
Delphi Technologies, a brand of BorgWarner Inc, is making final preparations to exhibit at the upcoming EV Ready event, being held at Brighton Racecourse on Wednesday 25th January.
Sponsored by GSF Car Parts, EV Ready is a new concept promising a ‘unique showcase of the aftermarket’s response to vehicle electrification’. The invitation-only group of exhibitors has been selected to provide garage technicians and business owners with insights on the latest EV technology, tools, training, equipment and opportunities.
“We were keen to support EV Ready as it’s a forward-thinking show that gives busy garage owners and technicians an opportunity to access a wealth of EV-related expertise and emerging technology in one place on one day,” said Luke Garratt, UK and Nordics Technical Services Manager at Delphi Technologies. “We’re pleased to be sponsoring the event and are looking forward to a successful show.”
Delphi will be taking an electric vehicle from their state-of-the-art training and development workshop in Warwick to demonstrate how to safely power down and start work on a typical EV.
Delphi will also be presenting on the necessity of EV training for independent garages and introducing their extensive EV parts program. This already includes brake pads and brake discs along with a comprehensive steering and suspension range.
Delphi already caters to growing demand from UK aftermarket technicians to develop new EV skills. E-learning modules are available within the Delphi Technologies Academy, offering garage staff a flexible way to acquire core knowledge.
“Our current hybrid electric vehicle training actually combines six hours of online pre-learning on electrical systems to establish the foundation of knowledge,” said Luke. “We then build upon that with our face-to-face training afterwards.”
An EV Ready discussion panel will include Peter Melville of the Hybrid and Electric Vehicle Repair Alliance (HEVRA), author Tom Denton, Ben Stockton of Our Virtual Academy, Paul Dineen of Servicesure and Quentin Le Hetet of GiPA alongside Matt Cleevely from award-winning EV specialist Cleevely Motors and Kevin Pearce of Cedar Garage.
The panel will discuss the implications of the growing EV parc for vehicle servicing and repairs, business opportunities and how workshops can best transition into the electrified arena.
