Diagnostic Professionals Resume Networking Meet-ups

Automotive Networking with Specialists

More than 45 members of an industry support network met up for the first time this year for a weekend of networking and technical knowledge sharing.

Diagnostic Professionals, which currently has 225 members from across the UK, welcomed colleagues from Northern Ireland, Scotland, Wales, and across the breadth of England.

The event was organised by garage owner, Mark Shipman from AES York and hosted by Matthew Pope at YMF Car Parts in Poppleton, York.

Day one’s events began with a series of talks from aftermarket industry experts.

The first session was with Jim Lang, founder of Garage Services Online, a website specialist which works exclusively within the independent garage sector.

The second session welcomed Andrew Vaux from Schaeffler UK, and the third speaker was Peter Melville from Hevra, the Hybrid & Electric Vehicle Alliance.

The afternoon rounded off with Dutch YouTuber, Danny Versluis, better known as ‘Diagnose Dan’ and Martin Moller from Autofrontal. Both had flown in especially for the event.

Day two included a programme of practical workshops at AES Auto Electrical Services, York.

Commenting on the event, Mark said: “It was fantastic to get together again, the weekend was an enormous success.

“Every session covered completely different topics; from Jim’s insight into what we should all be demanding from our website providers, to Peter’s in-depth look into the world of EV.

“There’s just no substitute for getting together in person and sharing knowledge. The fact that so many gave up their weekend to do so is testament to that.”

The Diagnostic Professionals group was established four years ago by Dean Andrew of DNA Vehicle Services as aprivate Facebook group. Its aim is to provide independent garage owners with a network of like-minded colleagues with whom to share technical knowledge and provide business support.
