Ecobat and Exide recognise their five year partnership

Exide provides premium quality batteries across multiple sectors from automotive, motorcycle and commercial vehicle to marine and leisure, as well as for industrial purposes

It is now five years since Ecobat Battery, the UK’s largest battery distributor, and Exide Technologies, one of the world’s leading original equipment (OE) battery manufacturers, agreed their strategic partnership, and a period during which both parties have enjoyed significant growth.

Exide provides premium quality batteries across multiple sectors from automotive, motorcycle and commercial vehicle to marine and leisure, as well as for industrial purposes. This wide range of applications fits perfectly within Ecobat Battery’s model, which is to supply a suitable battery into whatever power storage market has a requirement.

Emphasising the interdependence of the cooperation, Exide’s Battery Specialist & UK AM Sales Director, John Lees said: “Exide Technologies is proud of the strong partnership we've built with Ecobat Battery over the past five years. Since our initial collaboration in December 2019 with its UK operation, our relationship has flourished and expanded into other regions, including the Benelux, France, and Spain.

“Ecobat Battery is a key partner in our strategy to supply OE quality products to the aftermarket. Its best-in-class service and experienced sales team have been instrumental in our success.”

These sentiments prove to have fulfilled Ecobat Battery’s then Managing Director, Steve Sheppard’s, prediction that: “the combination has what it takes to grow the presence of the Exide brand in the UK and Ireland, and help in our commitment to the education and development of AGM and EFB batteries within the independent aftermarket.”

“Endorsing what both John has expressed, and Steve predicted, the strategic partnership has been, and continues to be, a great success,” added Ecobat Battery’s Managing Director UK and Ireland, Kevin Wood.

“Our joint aspiration has been to increase the availability and desirability of the Exide brand, and build upon its superb OE pedigree in the automotive and heavy duty sectors, to make it an equally attractive proposition across the company’s other active markets. Although this is naturally an ongoing process, it has also been a successful strategy that will continue as we look forward to addressing the future opportunities together.”
