EcoVadis award Ecobat and Exide Technologies
Further emphasising their close business philosophies, after recently celebrating their five year business partnership, Ecobat Battery’s parent company Ecobat and Exide Technologies, have another shared achievement, this time concerning sustainability as recognised by EcoVadis, a global platform that assesses corporate sustainability performance.
Underlining Ecobat’s ongoing sustainability journey, the company has been awarded the EcoVadis Platinum Medal, placing it among the top 1% of more than 125,000 companies evaluated globally, across more than 250 sectors and 185 countries.
The recognition reflects Ecobat’s continued commitment to sustainable business practices and responsible corporate citizenship, with the Platinum Medal awarded following a comprehensive EcoVadis evaluation across four key pillars: Environmental Responsibility, Labour and Human Rights, Ethics and Sustainable Procurement.
Clearly, earning a Platinum rating in these categories underscores the company’s dedication to continuous improvement and its leadership in advancing the circular economy and its essential role in building a more sustainable world.
In a similar vein, Exide technologies has been awarded EcoVadis’ Gold Medal reflecting that it has been at the forefront of developing and marketing innovative battery solutions globally. Its wide range of lead-acid and lithium-ion solutions serves various applications, including 12-volt batteries for combustion and electric vehicles, traction batteries for material handling and robotics, stationary batteries for uninterruptible power systems, telecommunications, front and behind-the-meter energy storage, and propulsion batteries for submarines.
“These notable accolades, awarded by the world's largest and most trusted provider of corporate sustainability ratings, further endorses the philosophies followed by both our parent company, and one of our most important suppliers,” explained Ecobat Battery Managing Director UK and Ireland, Kevin Wood.
“Environmental concerns and applying sound sustainability practices are of growing importance to our customers, so being able to demonstrate that our parent company, and therefore Ecobat Battery as a business within the group, are delivering on these objectives, is something to champion in the industry.
“The fact that Exide, one of the most prominent brands in our portfolio, has also been recognised for its sustainability performance, underlines the seriousness that both parties have to achieving greater sustainability throughout the supply chain and onto our customers, to their customers, and finally road users across Europe.”
