Diverse range of member benefits reinforce Eurorepar Car Service’s commitment to support independent garages
Stellantis-backed Eurorepar Car Service has unveiled two new training initiatives, as the independent garage network seeks to offer further value for members. The new programmes join the already diverse portfolio of benefits on offer to Eurorepar Car Service centres, which includes the recently announced partnership with Autotech Recruit.
Hosted by renowned virtual training provider, The Performance Academy Online, members can access a dedicated Eurorepar Car Service curriculum that offers more than 60 different online modules and 11 virtual sessions per year. Member garages will receive a heavily discounted subscription rate to benefit from the service.
The online modules focus on mechanical skills, with courses covering topics such as ADAS system maintenance, working on smart technologies, and vehicle telematics. Delegates can also benefit from introductory training on fully electric and plug-in hybrid vehicles. The virtual sessions will focus on bolstering skills and knowledge around front of house customer interactions.
In addition to the online training services, technicians at Eurorepar Car Service centres can attain a Hybrid/Electric Vehicle Repair Level 3 qualification at a substantially reduced fee through their automatic membership of the Independent Garage Association (IGA).
Recent data collated by aftermarket intelligence specialist, GiPA, underscores the need for UK repairers to upskill for the groundswell of electric vehicles. The data indicates that, by 2030, there will be 9.1 million battery electric vehicles on UK roads, accounting for 27% of the car parc. Responses to a GiPA survey further show that, despite the opportunities the growing electric vehicle park presents, 44% of independent garages still do not offer any electric vehicle-related services, with a further 41% only offering limited services.
Nick Taylor, General Manager for Eurorepar Car Service, said: “We’re pleased to be introducing yet another significant membership benefit for our network centres, at a time when there is so much to be gained from training. Not only are we helping with upskilling on nut and bolt vehicle mechanics, but we’re also equipping our technicians with the skills and knowledge to take advantage of the growing hybrid and electric vehicle parc.”
In July, Eurorepar Car Service announced that it had teamed up with automotive recruitment specialist, Autotech Recruit, to ensure that network members aren’t left with shortfalls in capacity. Service centres receive preferential rates to fill temporary vacancies at short notice, helping to keep garages profitable. According to data from Autotech Recruit, more than 80% of garage bosses said it had been a struggle to recruit skilled team members since the pandemic.
