ifndautoparts prepares for Japfest at Silverstone this weekend
ifndautoparts heads to UK’s biggest Japanese car event
Unique new dedicated parts buying and selling online marketplace instantly makes waves in both Classic Car and Modified Markets
Japfest Partnership includes the “ifndautoparts bullet train”!
ifndautoparts heads to Silverstone this weekend for its third public event within a month. After a successful public debut at the Practical Classics Classic Car and Restoration Show, followed by a major presence at Petrolheadonism Underground - where the tuning and modified car audience was introduced to the new parts platform - it now focuses its attention on the JDM enthusiasts, almost 20,000 of whom will flock to the home of the British GP.
With almost four years of development behind it, the new platform, which is dedicated solely to buying and selling car parts, found a ready audience in its second appearance in front of the public. Attracted by a stand which featured a highly modified four-door R34 Nissan and an equally rare Ferrari 458 Speciale, the reception that the ifndautoparts concept got from the people who stopped in at the stand was incredibly positive, and the take-up again yielded more impressive numbers.
“People loved the cars we had on display and, with our reaction testing game and video backdrop, lots of people stopped at the stand, which meant we were able to really talk to visitors and explain what ifndautoparts is all about – which was very pleasing,” explains ifndautoparts director, Mick Lunn. “What I loved was how positive the reaction was from people and how many quickly saw there was something they could benefit from. I’ve also been delighted that we are already getting trade sellers who want to be part of it – we honestly didn’t expect that so soon. It will be fascinating to see how things go this weekend – especially given that we are further ramping things up for Japfest.
ifndautoparts will be looking to make its mark at Japfest. It is taking over one of the pit garage areas, and the stand will feature at least three completely different Japanese cars as well as two different games for visitors to try. The popular reaction tester is back, along with a roll ball game which families can compete against each other on. Add to that a DJ, who will, of course, be playing garage(!) music (amongst other things…) over the weekend as well, of course, as the ifndautoparts system itself front and centre, and it all adds up to what will hopefully be a large and impressive presence.
In addition, the event’s internal public transport system, which will be ferrying visitors around Silverstone throughout Japfest, is going to be liveried up with the company’s branding and has therefore been renamed “the ifndautoparts bullet train.”
“We aim to give Japfest visitors an insight into what ifndautoparts is all about and how it can benefit them as car enthusiasts, but we also want to show that car culture is really important to us,” explains ifndautoparts Head of Marketing, Ruby Lunn. “We love cars and having cars to work on – and us experiencing the problems buying and selling parts caused, was the reason the ifndautoparts has come into being. Yes, this is a business and we are serious about it, but as enthusiasts we want to help and we want people to enjoy the journey – it should be fun!”
