Automotive aftermarket PR and digital marketing agency Impression Communications has helped nurture the next generation of aftermarket talent by supporting leading Apprentice of the Year Awards, hosted by East Coast College.

The Awards recognised skills and talent across Norfolk and Suffolk, with ceremonies taking place in Great Yarmouth and Lowestoft respectively. Impression supported the talent recognition show by providing Amazon vouchers for each of the winners.

Alicia Farrow, level two auto care apprentice, was named Suffolk’s Apprentice of the Year, and Tia Marsh, level three automotive (light vehicle) apprentice, was named Norfolk’s Apprentice of the Year.

Matthew Yeldham, vocational trainer at East Coast College, said: “We were so impressed with what both Alicia and Tia had to offer across the duration of their courses over the 2022-3 academic year.

“Their level of knowledge, skills retention, and their collective passion for the industry delivered distinction level work which blew away our judging panel. They are worthy winners of the Apprentice of the Year accolade and I’m confident in the difference they’ll make in their careers.”

Hayley Evans, PR director at Impression, said: “Supporting the next generation of aftermarket talent is key to ensure the longevity of the industry and to bridge the skills gap and therefore we’re pleased to have supported the Apprentice of the Year Awards and recognise the effort and passion of these individuals who have gone above and beyond.”

The winners of the automotive Apprentice of the Year awards will have the opportunity to compete in the World Skills heats for a place representing the UK in the global competition.
