Inspiring names confirmed to speak at The Blend 2024

The Blend 2024

Annual conference and networking event for independent garages, The Blend has announced the first wave of confirmed speakers set to share their expertise at the Eastside Rooms in Birmingham on Saturday, 28th September.

Returning speakers include Matt Cleevely of Cleevely Group and Andy Crook of Got Boost, whose presentations were highly acclaimed last year. New speakers bringing fresh perspectives and insights to the program include Walsall Wood’s Nathan Taylor, Louise Baker of Womanic and Michael Shaikly of Shaikly Motor Company. Additional speakers will be announced in the coming weeks.

“Last year's speakers were met with overwhelming enthusiasm, with attendees praising the depth of knowledge and practical insights shared,” said Ray Dilsons, Managing Director of Garage Hive, the award-winning garage management software behind the event. “The Blend 2024 is shaping up to be another not-to-be-missed event, featuring returning experts and fresh voices with new perspectives.”

Pioneer in the servicing and repairs of electric vehicles (EV), Matt Cleevely will return with updated practical insights and share actionable strategies for attracting EV owners. Meanwhile, Andy Crook will address how independent garages can combat declining diesel car sales by diversifying services and adapting to change. His presentation will cover media influence, finding reliable data sources, and strategies for evolving business practices to seize new opportunities.

Louise Baker is set to discuss how the sector can encourage greater diversity, while Nathan Taylor will share tips on how to leverage social media to boost online presence, with Michael Shaikly billed to emphasise the transformative power of selecting the right customers.

Other confirmed speakers at The Blend 2024 include James Dillon of Tech Topics, John Batten of Auto IQ, Jennifer Webb of HR Vitals, and Paul Griffiths of Elite Land Rover. Workshops are encouraged to ‘watch this space’ for the announcement of their presentation topics.

“We’re sticking with our much talked-about dynamic conference format,” said Ray. “Attendees can choose from four different sessions happening at the same time, so they can pick the talks that interests them most. We’ll also have trade supplier stands showcasing the latest garage innovations and solutions, with an evening dinner, awards ceremony and entertainment to conclude the day in celebration.”

More than 300 delegates, comprising of independent garages, invited suppliers and industry press, are expected to attend The Blend 2024. With interest running high, garages are strongly advised to secure their tickets early and guarantee their spot at what’s widely regarded as a must-attend event.

Tickets for the conference and evening event are available at an ‘early bird’ rate of £125 + VAT per person. After covering costs, the not-for-profit event will donate any additional proceeds to automotive industry charity, Ben.
