Motorsport fans can be sure of some great classic and historic cars at this year’s  Masters of Motoring presented by Footman James, over the weekend of June 7th & 8th  whether they be race followers or rally fans.

One of the leading names in historic and modern race car preparation – ERA Motorsport (www.eramotorsport.com) – is sending some stunning machinery to this year’s event.

In 2024 visitors were treated to the spectacular sight and sound of the March 707 Can Am car as well as one of that of Adam Syke’s McLaren M1C. Adam is returning with the car so he and ERA will ensure that CAN AM is represented again this year. ERA are bringing one of their fantastic collection of Shadow Can Am cars to the Masters –the mighty DN4 which helped take Shadow to the Can-Am title in 1974.

Resplendent in its famous black livery, the DN4 was one of a breed of machines that were reckoned to be even faster than the Formula One cars of the day. Their huge seven and eight litre V8 engines put out around 800BHP, and these spectacular sports cars quickly became legendary, attracting leading Grand Prix and Indycar drivers to race them.

ERA will also have their beautiful Porsche 911 (993) GT2 sportscar at Masters of Motoring. The car, resplendent in its Blue Coral livery was one of the iconic GT cars of the mid 1990s. Based in both Wiltshire UK and also in America – where the team has won in the Daytona 24 hours – Masters is delighted to welcome ERA Motorsport, who will be present at both Castle Combe and Bowood House & Gardens.

Rally fans will also be in for a treat as various Rally Supercars are returning to Masters of Motoring again in 2025. Last year they were a lively part of the action at Castle Combe and they will undoubtedly be so again.

New for 2025 will be feature areas around various aspects of getting into motorsport.

Masters of Motoring is also delighted to announce the participation of global motorsport initiative, Formula Woman, who will have a presence at this year’s event. The scheme currently boasts more than 14000 women from over 90 countries and they will be at Master of Motoring to allow women who are interested in getting into motorsport the opportunity to find out more – and get active – at Masters of Motoring. Their full programme for the Masters weekend will be announced shortly, but for anyone interested in going racing, Formula Woman is free to join at www.formulawoman.co.uk

Another organisation, aiming to broaden participation in motorsport that will be at Masters of Motoring for the first time is We Racing (www.weracing.co.uk). As a result of this new partnership, anyone who can access the North West of England, can take part in the Masters of Motoring Cup at Teamsport in Warrington on April 11thorganised and hosted by We Racing. The winners of the event will take home VIP tickets for the Masters of Motoring weekend, with a host of other prizes on offer as well, of course, as the chance to compete in a number of races on the excellent kart circuit.

Cheshire based PASR (Perfect Acceleration Sim Racing) www.perfectacceleration.co.uk who run a number of national sim racing championships - including the TOCA Junior official eSeries - will be bringing state-of-the-art driving simulators to the event and their presence will be enhanced by Veloce Driver Coaching, (velocedriving.com), so people who want to get some race skills before setting out on a race track will have the chance to do so.

Masters is committed to promoting young motorsport talent, having signed up partnerships to help support 19 year old sports car sensation, Maurice Henry who dominated the Junior Saloon Car Championship in 2023 and then progressed to success in the Britcar Trophy Championship last year, as well as current Ford Fiesta Champion Henry Howarth racing for Jamsport in the Vertu Mini Challenge which forms part of the British Touring Car Championship race weekend.

Masters of Motoring presented by Footman James is a two-day lifestyle motoring event over the weekend of June 7th and 8th 2025. With its mix of track acton at Castle Combe, and Concours at Bowood House & Gardens, Masters of Motoring is rapdily evolving as one of the key Supercar Events of the year.

The Saturday is a track-based action day staged at Wiltshire’s Castle Combe Race Circuit, which this year celebrates its 75th Anniversary. It is set to feature a large and exciting selection of historic race and rally cars, classic and supercars. This will be followed by a VIP Concours-style event on Sunday at nearby Bowood House & Gardens, which in turn is celebrating 50 years of being open to the public. The impressive Wiltshire estate, with its spectacular stately home and beautiful gardens will form a wonderful backdrop to Masters’ classic and modern exotica, as well as marque and car anniversary displays.

This year for the first time there will also be a sports and classic car run, organised by classic motoring tour experts, Fantastic Roads, which sets off from the Homewood Hotel in Bath which culminates, after some picturesque driving around South-West England, at Castle Combe Circuit, with participants getting the chance to drive the track before returning to the Homewood Hotel for afternoon tea. The weekend will also feature a selection of social events for both participants and visitors.
