New Vehicles in Video partnership is first sign of new RAC Dealer Network strategy

Lee Coomber - RAC

A new partnership with digital solutions specialist Vehicles in Video is the first sign of a new strategy for the RAC Dealer Network.

Lee Coomber, RAC Client Director, explained a series of third-party agreements would soon be announced providing products and services in support of its 1200+-strong group of used car, van, motorcycle and motorhome retailers.

He said: “We’ve always taken a view that we are not just a warranty and aftersales product provider to each of our dealers but that we are here to help them grow and prosper as a business. The new arrangements extend that thinking. We are planning to cover all kinds of areas of dealer activity and enable our members to access high quality suppliers who will help them drive sales and customer satisfaction at beneficial prices.

“While we’ve been carrying out some groundwork in this area for a while – including holding open days with G3 Remarketing to help our dealers access stock – the new partnership with Vehicles in Video is really the first of these partnerships. It enables retailers to make a personalised video of a vehicle and send it directly to a customer in a matter of moments. It’s a highly responsive, easy to use, digital sales tool that we are sure will find a high degree of acceptance across the RAC Dealer Network.”

Lee added that discussions towards new partnerships were well-underway in areas such as online review and feedback, stocking and motor finance, specialist dealer web site providers, and trade-to-trade sales.

“It’s about becoming a doorway to a whole range of products and services that we believe will have a real impact on individual dealer success. It’s very much part of the ethos here at Assurant, which partners with the RAC in the dealer and aftersales sectors, to add value to the relationships we build with our customers.”

Matt Maley, CEO at Vehicles in Video, said: “We’re really pleased to enter into this arrangement. The RAC Dealer Network is well known for being a dynamic presence in the warranty and aftersales space, and we are looking forward to working with their members to show how our technology can benefit their business and their customers.”
