Schaeffler continues to invest in the future

Schaeffler invest in future

Once again demonstrating its commitment to ensuring the future health of the independent sector, the Schaeffler REPXPERT team recently visited Tameside College in Ashton-under-Lyne, to speak to students and bring them up to speed with modern clutch technology.

The Schaeffler REPXPERT team of technical manager, Alistair Mason and digital marketing expert, Tony Yates, were delighted to accept the invitation from vehicle maintenance lecturer Darren Ratcliffe, to visit students at the college undertaking a City & Guilds in motor vehicle mechanics, because showing and explaining the complex systems now fitted to today’s cars brings a practical application into their courses.

“Although some of the guys will be destined for a career in the franchised dealer network, many will find themselves in the independent sector, which means they are the LuK fitters of the future,” said Alistair. “So, supporting the college whilst giving the students the opportunity to learn more about double clutch transmissions and providing an insight of our LuK 2CT installation training, shows we have their interests at heart.”

As an indication of what the visit meant to the collage, Darren Ratcliffe said: “On behalf of everyone at Tameside College, I just wanted to thank Alistair and Tony for taking the time to visit us today and deliver the excellent training to the students and staff that were present. I know I personally learned a lot from the presentations and demonstration. I also want to say a big thank you for the resources and equipment that Schaeffler provided for us, these will all prove very useful in the classroom and in the workshop.”
