Shaftec Achieves TecDoc Premier Data Supplier Status

Shaftec

Shaftec is about to end the year on a high. The Drive. Steer. Stop expert has been ranked number one in the UK for coverage across all its product groups: transmission, steering and braking, and has also achieved industry coveted TecDoc Premier Supplier status (PDS).

“It’s been a successful and interesting year with many positive developments, but this news is the icing on the cake,” says Shaftec’s CEO, Mitesh Thanki.

“The cornerstone of our business is built on three things: quality, availability, and range. For the Shaftec name to top the leaderboard in terms of UK coverage across all our product groups, and at the same time to be awarded TecDoc’s Premier Supplier status is a very proud moment. It’s a testament to the consistent hard work, dedication, and commitment of every single Shaftec employee.”

Shaftec has been working closely with the Elcome team using its Xchecker Cataloguing System to deliver its data to TecDoc since 2016. To achieve TecDoc’s Premier Data Supplier status requires a company to meet 13 Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) consistently and to a 99 percent minimum degree of accuracy. This performance is reviewed every quarter to retain the status title.

In terms of vehicle parc coverage, Shaftec has been ranked the UK’s number one with the following products: driveshafts, brake calipers, steering racks, steering pumps, and steering columns. Of particular note are Shaftec’s driveshaft programme which comes in at almost 10 percent higher than its next leading competitor, and its caliper programme which achieves 96.65 percent UK coverage.

Steve Healy, Shaftec’s Technical Cataloguer, added: “This recognition corroborates our on-going commitment and support to our customers over the years. We work hard to manage and continually improve the quality of our catalogue data to always offer the most reliable and accurate information, allowing our customers to find the parts they are looking for easily and in the shortest possible time. Being awarded the top spot and PDS status are goals we’ve long been aiming for, and to realise this for the first time is both a huge achievement and a stark reminder that now the bar is set so high, we’ve got to work even harder to maintain it for the benefit of our customers.”
