Shaikly Motor Company Celebrates Website Milestone

Award-winning garage’s website surpasses half a million Google search appearances

Essex-based Shaikly Motor Company is celebrating after statistics show its new website has appeared in over 500,000 page one Google searches in just eight months.

The family-run business, which was recently crowned Top Garage Multisite Garage of the Year and IGA Large Independent Garage of the Year, says the news is testament to its bespoke website, which now properly represents the business itself.

Its previous website didn’t reflect the garage’s professionalism, nor have ‘enough under the bonnet’ to compete in highly competitive online searches. However, Rebecca Shaikly, director at Shaikly Motor Company, points out that its online strategy is not solely about attracting more work; it’s about showcasing Shaikly’s technical knowledge and expertise.

She said: “We’ve always received a large number of enquiries, but now our diversification and product offering is presented really effectively via our website. It’s clear, informative and easy to navigate, so the customer can determine if Shaikly is the right place for their vehicle – before they even make contact.

“This has reduced the number of general enquiries we receive because we don’t get the time-consuming non-productive calls anymore. It means we can allocate resources accordingly and properly manage the calls that do come in.

“We have a very staff-centric ethos here at Shaikly and are hugely focused on training. Michael is an industry-recognised master technician and that in-depth knowledge is continually passed onto the team. As such, we provide a premium service – and we charge accordingly. We don’t price match to keep busy.

“In turn, we’re a profitable business with a highly skilled and happy workforce. It’s an award-winning formula!”

The company appointed Garage Services Online, a specialist website company that works exclusively with the independent garage sector in May 2022, and says the website has massively changed Shaikly’s image online and revolutionised its customers’ journey.

Rebecca concluded: “A lot of people think a website’s job is to bring more work in, but it does so much more. It helps you control your business, the direction you want it to go in, and ultimately, profitability. You just can’t put a price on your garage’s online presence.

“That said, Garage Services Online made it very cost-effective for us and, just as importantly, their customer service mirrors our own. We’re very happy.”
