Steven Eagell Group streamlines number plate production

the Steven Eagell Group sought a solution to improve manufacturing efficiency, maintain consistent plate quality and reduce costs

The Steven Eagell Group, the UK’s largest Toyota and Lexus dealer group, has significantly enhanced its number plate production efficiency and reduced operational costs through a successful partnership with Tennants UK, a leading manufacturer of number plate solutions.

Faced with the need to produce high-quality, fully compliant number plates across 23 branches, the Steven Eagell Group sought a solution to improve manufacturing efficiency, maintain consistent plate quality and reduce costs.

Tennants UK addressed these needs by first gathering detailed information about the dealership's operations, including the volume of vehicles serviced at each location and any unique design requirements for the plates.

The number plate specialist also assessed network availability, unique user login needs for compliance, and the expected levels of technical and sales support. This comprehensive approach enabled Tennants to develop a tailored solution that met all technical and practical requirements while delivering quantifiable cost savings.

Tennants implemented its advanced number plate printing system at Steven Eagell’s pre-delivery inspection centre. A standout feature of the solution was the dual printer initiative, which allowed for high volume, simultaneous printing of front and rear plates.

This innovation significantly reduced production time and minimised waste, as the roll-fed media is housed internally, protecting it from contamination. The new system has proven highly effective in enhancing operational efficiency and ensuring high-quality outputs.

Paul Parsons, Aftersales Director at the Steven Eagell Group, said: “From presentation through to implementation and post-delivery service, Tennants has provided an exemplary package that satisfies all of our criteria. The dual printer setup has been a huge success with our Parts Managers, who have reported a noticeable reduction in plate-making time and media waste. Tennants has gone above and beyond in all aspects of their number plate solution.”

The introduction of Tennants’ systems has led to remarkable improvements in the Steven Eagell Group’s operations, providing a streamlined production process that reduces costs and increases efficiency while adhering to high compliance standards.

Stephen Archer, Business Development and Marketing Manager at Tennants UK, commented: “It’s a pleasure to have partnered with the Steven Eagell Group and to see the positive impact our number plate solutions have had on their operations. Our goal has always been to deliver high-quality, compliant products combined with exceptional support, and this partnership is a testament to the success of that approach. We look forward to continuing our collaboration and helping them achieve even greater efficiency in the future.”
