Tina Drayson named Head of the IAAF Garage Section
Tina Drayson, Operations Manager at CCM Garage has become the new Head of the Independent Automotive Aftermarket Federation (IAAF) Garage Section, as well as being appointed to the IAAF Council.
As part of the role, Drayson will support the Federation’s expansion into the garage section, which has seen the recruitment of more than 1500 garages so far in 2023, while continuing to bolster its lobbying capability and broaden its support to independent workshops.
Since the move to recruit garages was announced, the Federation has enjoyed a 94 percent conversion rate across all garages spoken to, underlining its ambition to bring garages into membership and to bring the supply chain closer together. IAAF member packs and IAAF signage are now being distributed to garages across the UK.
Drayson oversees the operations of CCM Garage and has now also stepped into the voluntary IAAF role to help ensure the IAAF’s garage section fully supports the needs of a modern garage across all levels of the business, from legislation to technical support.
Taking on a multi-specialist approach to best serve the evolving vehicle parc, CCM Garage is supported by its emphasis on first-class customer support.
The business, based in the south east, employs 30 technicians, mechanics, MOT testers and a dedicated support team who maintain and service all makes and models of cars and light commercial vehicles, alongside technical and specialist services to the trade.
On her new role, Drayson, said: “Using my experience at CCM Garage, it’s clear to see the challenges that garages face in the modern world, from facing increasingly restricted access to data and technical information, to the rising cost of running a business amid the ongoing cost-of-living crisis. It was therefore an honour to be given the opportunity to head up this integral section of the Federation and I look forward to welcoming and supporting more garage members over the coming months and year.”
Mark Field, Chief Executive of the IAAF, added: “I’m delighted that Tina has become the new Head of the IAAF Garage Section, as her vast experience makes her an ideal candidate for the role. It has given the section of the IAAF a real boost and I look forward to working with her to offer independent garages something different and a fresh approach that supports their business and the people that work in the market.”
