FAI points to minor variations in cylinder head part numbers

Cylinder Head

FAI Automotive has issued advice on cylinder heads for its part numbers, BCH090 & and BCH091, providing a helpful diagram to highlight the minor difference between the two parts.

The parts are suitable for Nissan, Opel/Vauxhall, and Renault 2.2l (G9T) & 2.5l (G9U) Diesel, and the aftermarket specialist is urging motor factors and technicians to check which component they require before ordering, as there is a slight design difference to the section below the common rail.

FAI’s range of cylinder heads cover popular passenger car and light commercial applications. Made from aluminium and cast iron, all parts are machined on the latest generation CNC machines for greater accuracy and continuity.

Most heads are supplied bare (including valve guides & seats), which offer a cost-effective option if all the components from the old head can be transferred to the new head.

Where major damage has occurred, FAI can, on some applications, offer a complete head, with camshaft(s), valves, springs, seals etc. all built up and ready to fit.

The FAI part number prefix denotes the head composition such as BCH001 (Bare Cylinder Head) or CCH001 (Complete Cylinder Head).

All heads are brand new and supplied in a fitted polystyrene case contained within a robust cardboard carton, to ensure the head arrives to you in perfect condition.

FAI advises that technicians will need gaskets and head bolts to fit the new head, which can be ordered from FAI when an order is placed.
