From road to track and back - Motul 8100 Power

F4 Car on Motul oil

Motul’s 8100 range was devised to cover a wide spectrum of cars - with full OEM approval but with a minimum number of references and the general 8100 range therefore covers most modern engines, whether normally aspirated or turbo/supercharged and whether they are petrol or diesel fuelled. Motul 8100 has therefore long been compared to a Swiss Army Knife because of its all-round capability, but this knife now has a sharp cutting edge, as Motul releases the 8100 Power series of lubricants onto the market.

Since 2022, Motul’s 8100 X-power has had the distinction of not with only being an oil with huge racing heritage, but it has also had the unique chance of creating a racing heritage of its own, having been chosen, for the second year running, as the mandated engine oil of a top-line British motor racing championship - the ROKiT F4 British Championship certified by FIA, where future F1 stars are made.

This Road-to-Track lubricant has now been the launching point for the 8100 Power series. 8100 Power is aimed at top-end performance and tuned engines. It is equally at home on the racetrack as it is on the road. It offers those who want a really high-quality ester-based, fully synthetic lubricant, that is able to cope comfortably with all types of engine demands, offering exceptional engine response and LSPI Protection. It offers a practical ultra-high performance solution without having to move into the territory of Motul 300V, which is aimed fairly and squarely in the realms of track applications.

“Think of Motul 8100 Power as the ultimate all-rounder, in lubricant terms. It has all of the practicality of the 8100 range, but with added extra capability,” explains Motul UK and Ireland Sales and Marketing Manager, Andy Wait. “It is a really cost-effective solution for those vehicles that might be highly tuned, or performance modded,  for which people need an engine oil that will be as at-home heading for the shops as it is doing track days, or even competitive motoring.”

Motul 8100 Power is currently available in 0W20, 5W30, 5W40, 5W50 grades in both 1 litre and 5 litre packs.
