Formula Woman is delighted to announce that a two-car Formula Woman Nations Cup team has been entered into the opening round of the 2025 Radical Cup UK, which will take place on Donington Park’s Grand Prix Circuit over the final weekend of March.

Both cars feature an international combination of drivers, each of whom will be taking part in the Formula Woman Nations Cup Final, which takes place at the Dubai Autodrome over the first weekend of May.

The two-car Formula Woman effort will see Nathalie Neumann from Luxembourg partnering Finnish driver Flame Airikkala in one Radical SR3XX. The other partners Mexico’s Karla Villanueva with England’s Alicia Barrett.

Formula Woman Founder and CEO, Graeme Glew, explains how the opportunity came about: “Formula Woman’s race car constructor of choice is Radical. We used them exclusively in the Nations Cup semi-finals, last December, and they will be the cars that everyone drives in the Nations Cup finals in May. After Porsche, Radical is the world’s biggest race car constructor and it has a range of cars in which drivers can make natural progress – which makes them ideal for the Formula Woman concept.

“Our relationship with Radical has been developing over this latest Formula Woman series and, through this, came the opportunity to race in the opening round of this year’s Radical Cup UK, which is a very exciting prospect.”

“The chance to compete in the Radical Cup UK is a truly thrilling one,” explains Karla Villanueva.  “The UK series is one of the most competitive Radical championships in the world and it will really give not only me, but all four of us, a benchmark so that we can see where we are in relation to the regular Radical competitors."

Two of the four took advantage of the recent Radical test day at Donington Park to get better acquainted with the pretty Radical SR3XX. Alicia Barrett drove during the morning session, with the car being adjusted for the afternoon session to suit the taller frame of Flame Airikkala.

The Radical weekend race format gives both drivers qualifying sessions on the first day, together with a short 25-minute race for one driver. Day two brings with it a two-race format. The first is another short race for the second driver, with, towards the end of the day, a 50-minute race in which both drivers take part.

“It will be fascinating to see both how the Formula Woman Four shape up against the competition, and also how our drivers shape up to a race with a driver change in it – something they will hopefully find of use for their future racing careers,” continues Graeme Glew. “It will also give us some additional insight in terms of the preparation and running of the cars for what is to come in Dubai in a little over a month’s time.
