Auto Windscreens’ Training Centre gains IMI accreditation

Auto Windscreens has announced its Training Centre, the longest-running in the automotive glazing industry, is now formally approved by the Institute of the Motor Industry (IMI). It is the only company in its market to be IMI and GQA accredited, which means it’s able to provide colleagues with training for both awarding bodies.

Earlier this year, seven colleagues in its Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) and Training teams were the first in the country to complete IMI’s new AOM230, covering ADAS calibration, which is an official entry route into IMI’s TechSafe™ recognition.

Tony Green, Auto Windscreens’ Head of Technical Training, said: “Our Training Centre was launched at our Chesterfield head office in 1990. Every one of our technicians steps through its doors and we’re incredibly proud of the level and quality of training we deliver here. It’s one of the keys to our success and contributes to our track record in great customer service. Our IMI accreditation is a milestone we’re extremely proud of and we look forward to the rest of the team, including eight regional trainers, completing the IMI AOM230 from the centre.”

Wayne Dyson, Business Development Manager at IMI added: “The IMI are excited to welcome Auto windscreens as an IMI approved centre to deliver IMI ADAS accreditations. ADAS will continue to evolve rapidly and having staff which have the knowledge and skills to work on these systems is essential to meet the needs of the customer.”
