Delphi supports independent factor growth
Autovaux Car Parts (Autovaux), an independent supplier of automotive parts and accessories, is set to open a fourth branch.
The expansion into West Yorkshire represents a significant milestone for the family-run business, which rapidly evolved from humble beginnings in 2000. With existing branches in Dewsbury, Leeds, and Castleford, the latest addition will cater to increasing demands.
Attributing success to consistent reinvestment into the business and strategic collaborations, Autovaux Managing Director, Paul Starling, highlights the pivotal role played by Delphi, the first tier-one supplier to extend a direct account to Autovaux.
“Delphi’s support was instrumental in the early days,” said Paul. “Whether it's assistance with marketing projects, customer service or technical queries, Delphi's always been there for us.”
Originally focused on Vauxhall parts, a relocation to Dewsbury in 2017 paved the way for the establishment of an all-makes program in 2018. It’s a move which later helped the business fill a void following the closure of Andrew Page in 2020. Autovaux components meet OE standards and are available at competitive prices.
Going beyond the supply of parts, Autovaux customers also benefit from Delphi’s comprehensive diagnostic programmes, Delphi Academy training, and its wide-ranging technical content on the Masters of Motion hub.
“We take immense pride in our long-standing support of Autovaux,” said Delphi Commercial Sales Manager, Nick Maxwell. “Over the years, we have stood alongside them, ensuring their customers benefit from an all-encompassing range of workshop solutions.”
Autovaux currently employs more than 70 staff. Some 30 vans provide prompt deliveries within a five-mile radius of branches, guaranteeing a maximum one-hour service agreement. It gives garages fast access to more than 800,000 parts stocked in Autovaux’s 45,000m2 of warehouse space.
“For us it’s about good old fashioned customer service,” said Paul. “We never want to lose the personal hands-on approach. We’re always there on the end of the phone for our customers.”
Autovaux remains a family-oriented enterprise with Paul's two sons working in the business. Paul himself remains deeply involved in the day-to-day operations. Even on Saturday mornings, Paul can still be found answering phones.
Alongside plans for further new branches, Autovaux aims to significantly broaden its online aftermarket offering. During its next phase of growth, Autovaux says customers can expect to receive the usual hands-on, personalised service.
